It was a very last minute wedding! Stepan and Liza hired me a week before their “much talked about in Russia” wedding celebration. Stepan is a son of one of my favorite directors and actors Nikita Mikhalkov and the great actress Anastasia Vertinskaya. Stepan also owns several high end restaurants that are an absolutely must visit when in Moscow. I ate at two and have to say the food was delicious and interior is very tastefully done. Liza is a very successful model, beautiful inside and out, and from the moment I first met her (at her birthday party two days before the wedding) I really liked her.

I want to thank Aga of Aga Images for second shooting. It was Aga’s first time in Russia and all she wanted to see was Lenin :-) (Unfortunately Red Square was closed for the Moscow Day celebration). As for me, the last time I was in Russia was six years ago when I received “The Photographer of the Year” Award in Moscow. I have got to say, a lot changed since then for sure!

Gotta love those shoes!

There were a lot of celebrities ( mostly russians that I don’t know) but I recognized Patti Smith who shared a table with Aga and me.

Beth+Dave slideshow!!

I’ve got a little nice note from Dave’s mom and dad after they saw the photos on the blog. Thank you!!

“Gulnara and Maria –

WOW!!! The first photos are absolutely fantastic! You have captured the moment! We can’t wait to see the rest of them. You two are really really special.

Peggy and Doug.”

And from Beth and Dave:

“Gulnara,

We just got back from Hawaii. Just about the first thing we did was check out your blog – we got lots of messages from our friends and family saying that the pics were great….and they are! My favorites are probably the one of Dave and Shep sleeping and the cake cutting one – cause you can see me, my mom & dad, and Dave’s mom laughing at something Dave had done. Oh, I also love the jumping one, and the one of my dad handing me off to Dave is really special.”

And more from Beth and Dave after they saw the slideshow:

Gulnara,

There are no words! Dave and I just watched the slide show you made. Thank you! It is incredible. Amazing music – wonderful choice, you have totally hit our personalities! And the pictures…wow! The second time through we paused constantly and just looked as one amazing picture appeared after another. I don’t know how we got so lucky to have you with us at our wedding, but we are grateful. You have captured our day! I couldn’t possibly begin to tell you which pictures are my favorite – it would be impossible!

Also, on another note, I was out with some of our guests from our wedding tonight, and we were reminiscing about the wedding. They mentioned specifically about how unobtrusive you and Maria were. Another friend mentioned how much she liked the types of pictures you were taking. We are lucky. Our sincerest thanks to you and Maria, both! Give a special thanks to Maria for getting the pictures with our dog…we love them…Shep is very special to us :)

Watch the slideshow here. Thank you guys!!

Amanda+Benjamin

Some favorites from Amanda and Benjamin’s wedding I just shot in Albany for Karenscape.

My second shooter Joy took a photo of me during the shoot. Hanging there on the my left shoulder is my favorite 70-200 lens and the best “shootsac” camera bag by Jessica Clare that has three more lenses. Unfortunately those are not my chiropractor’s favorite items :-(

Stacy+Ashley slideshow!!!

I got a really nice note from Stacy and Ashley. Thank you guys!

“Thanks for the preview of the slideshow. The photos look great. It seems you’ve done a great job of creating the theme that we were looking for – a creative wedding portrait, capturing all the detail of the wedding that is easily forgotten. We’re looking forward to seeing the rest!
Also, after coming back from our honeymoon yesterday we’ve learnt that you guys were a real hit down here. All the family think you did a really great job and were very professional. So we hope you liked Trinidad because we suspect ours won’t be the last wedding you’re asked to photograph in the coming years!”

Turn on your speakers and enjoy!!
